Alba Monk
Thanks to Heredis, I was able to print my husband’s family tree for his great-aunts and great-uncles… During a family reunion, kids were in one corner playing videogames, parents sitting at the dinner table, while the senior members of the family were on all fours on the floor, studying their ancestor chart and getting lost in lengthy conversations about the past. It was hilarious!
Olympe Rigaud
Not an actual anecdote but my grandpa had been using Heredis since it was first released. He is no longer with us today but he’s handed down to me all of his research work and Heredis along with it. Our story is about transmission.

Have you entered a search status for each event in your genealogy?
With your Heredis software, you can define a search status for each of your events!
What’s the advantage? It will allow for the completeness of data in your searches to be measured and it will help you track progress of them.
Using this tool is very simple. On the Personal Data entry form, select an event and access its search status under the Details tab.

You are then given several options:
Thanks to this tool, you will be able to get the list of all the records to be searched from custom reports; also, even the records that you have defined as “Untraceable records” will be taken into account in the calculation of the records that you must collect in order for an ancestor to be considered as complete in Search tracking.
