Merry Christmas!

On this Christmas day, the entire Heredis Team wanted to wish you a merry Christmas. Oh yes, of course we wrote this message a few days ahead of time because we are probably busy unwrapping some gifts right now or sharing a nice family dinner with our loved ones.

However, we thought it was important to say a few words to you on this Christmas day, as we feel the need to express our feelings to those we share our lives with, whether they live close to us or far away.
Indeed, you, dear Heredis users, are part of the Heredis family.

You are the ones writing the story of this software each and every day, and, on this particular day, we wanted to honor the users we are in contact with on a daily basis.
Every day, we interact with you in fabulous ways and that’s why we love our jobs so much. This is why we wanted to share this beautiful story between you and us as the year 2022 is coming to an end.
Anyway, thank you so much for choosing Heredis for your genealogy! We are truly grateful.

Her name is LĂ©naĂŻg and she is one of our users, from whom we "borrowed" an image from her blog, on the spur of the moment, without asking her first. Yes, mea culpa, that was wrong! Just before the release of Heredis 2023, we were actually looking for an example of a paper research journal and came across her picture we found so telling! And it was such a good illustration of what our users would do before Heredis 2023 could process their research journal. LĂ©naĂŻg was indeed using her own research journal because it was then lacking in Heredis.

Hence, carried away by the excitement of the new version about to be launched, we forgot the most important thing: to ask her permission to feature her research journal!

Yet, fortunately, LĂ©naĂŻg was very understanding and we thank her warmly for having authorized us (after the fact) to use her picture.

Do discover her terrific genealogy blog (in French) on https://surleurstraces.wordpress.com/ and read her article on the setting up of a paper research journal https://surleurstraces.wordpress.com/2020/11/11/j-comme-journal-de-recherches/ to keep track of her research progress and therefore follow through more efficiently.

You can also watch the Heredis 2023 New Features video where we drew a parallel between her paper research journal and the computerized research journal in Heredis 2023 : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k-Pb8K7cHjw

A breathtaking story for Christmas:
When Love is Stronger than War.

And to end the year on a high note, here is a gift we wanted to share with you, dear Heredis users, because thanks to genealogy, a family was pieced back together and its members reconnected after years of research...

This story came to us through the niece of our very own “Sandra from Heredis”, and the main character is her dad... Which is all the more poignant. Discover the story of the love between a French POW and a young German woman between 1940 and 1945 on the Heredis blog. Dive into the heart of history and discover the moving journey of two families through this beautiful testimony!

We hope this story will inspire you!

Merry Christmas to all! And cheers to genealogy!
